FireMan releases new video series showcasing drone innovations for wildfire response

The Research Council of Finland-funded FireMan project has released a new series of videos presenting how drone technologies are being applied to support early wildfire detection, situational awareness, and safe operations for emergency services. The videos capture real‑world demonstrations, sensor testing, and coordinated field exercises conducted with Finnish rescue organisations.

The material provides an accessible visual overview of FireMan’s key results, including thermal imaging workflows, data‑fusion techniques, and autonomous flight profiles tailored for wildfire scenarios. Viewers can also see how drones complement traditional ground and aerial assets, providing rapid information that supports tactical decision‑making.

By making these videos publicly available, the FireMan project strengthens awareness of how uncrewed aviation can support society in extreme conditions and offers valuable learning resources for practitioners, researchers and decision‑makers.

FUAVE encourages ecosystem partners to explore the video series and share the material within their networks.
